🐑 Satley Speed Shear 🐑
Satley Speed Shear is a head-to-head competition where shearers race against the clock to shear a sheep as quickly and cleanly as possible.
The timer starts and stops when the shearing machine cord is pulled. Once the sheep is shorn, judges inspect the work for missed wool, and overall shearing quality before awarding:
🟢 Green Light – Through to the next round
🔴 Red Light – Eliminated
As long as the sheep is shorn to the required standard, the fastest time wins!
But Satley Speed Shear is about much more than competition. The event is held to raise money for our chosen charities:

Funds are raised through shearer participation, spectator entry, food and drink sales, raffle tickets, and bidding on our fantastic auction lots.
